The Hygenic Corporation Web Developer in Warrenville, Illinois

We are currently seeking a full-time, experienced, on-site Magento developer to join our IT team in Warrenville, IL (Chicago area). Duties will typically be a mix of short term tasks (e.g. maintenance and troubleshooting) and longer term projects (e.g. building new e-commerce websites) in support of marketing and e-commerce initiatives. This role is very fast-paced and customer-facing.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop and support a wide variety of internet/intranet applications, mostly Magento-based, e-commerce sites, with “hands on” involvement in all aspects of analysis, design, configuration, coding, testing, documenting, implementation and maintenance

  • Proactively monitor, troubleshoot and improve portfolio of websites & related applications

  • Evaluate new technologies and provide recommendations, as requested

  • Participate in, and in some cases lead, project planning and tracking.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

  • Technology related degree with emphasis in software development preferred

  • Minimum 4+ years of web development experience working with technologies such as PHP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, C++, SQL Server, MySQL and PostgreSQL

  • Minimum 2+ years of development and administration experience on the Magento platform

  • Extensive knowledge of web architectures, applications, analytics, tools and ecosystems (e.g. tools and services vendors)

  • Extensive enterprise-level knowledge of “best practices” related to data privacy and security

  • Experience working with marketing organizations and a solid understanding of B2B and B2C marketing concepts, strategies, terminologies and methodologies

  • Experience with .NET development a plus

  • Ability to work on multiple parallel projects and tasks, both independently and as a member of multiple teams

  • Ability to communicate accurately, succinctly and professionally with both internal and external customers
