The Role:

The Manager, Corporate Communication will join our Corporate Communications Marketing team and will be part of a fast-paced and collaborative marketing team, helping to strengthen the value of BCU brand and member experiences through persistent support of communications strategies particularly in the areas of B2C / B2B marketing, Financial Well-being, change management, critical communications and presentations for our leadership team.

What you'll be doing:

We are looking for an energetic, detail-oriented communications professional and enthusiastic brand-culture leader with exceptional copywriting and management skills. This individual should have experience in developing cross-channel communications and change management strategies, creating actionable, compelling copy that drives results for our product marketing, developing thoughtful, timely critical communication plans, develop presentations for Senior Leadership including RFPs, and using creative thinking to create exceptional brand experiences!

Role and Responsibilities

  • Work with internal stakeholders to design, develop, and implement communications plans, processes, and content to drive key aspects of the strategy. This includes but is not limited to B2C / B2B marketing, Financial Well-being, change management communication strategies (both internal and external), critical communications and presentations for our leadership team.

  • This includes copywriting, editing, proofing and reviewing content to drive communication and marketing strategies that support organizational programs, initiatives, priorities, and efforts to successfully convey the BCU brand.

  • Develop and maintain defined communication standards and objectives for content, messaging and delivery of communication efforts to remain accurate, current, consistent, high quality and aligned with defined BCU brand standards.

  • Partner closely with Marketing, Business Development, Member Experience and others to develop communications that drive awareness and consideration for BCU’s members and eligible non-members.

  • Manage a Content Specialist, focused on content copy for all other marketing campaigns, web SEO, digital advertising, internal communications and other needs as requested.

  • Develop impactful change management communications plans that aligns to stakeholder groups, consider change impacts, and enable and inspire both our employees and our members to take action.

  • Respond to the needs of urgent and time sensitive critical communications across multiple channels as they arise.

  • Write and edit timely business-wide internal communications in support of strategic priorities (e.g., leadership messages, news stories, articles, video scripts, surveys, talking points, business-wide content, website pages, frequently asked questions, etc.)

  • Develop relationships within organization

  • Develop and present presentations, dashboards, and other materials

  • Initiate ideas and actions on cross-functional teams

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required: Marketing, Journalism or Communications concentration preferred

  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience in communications, marketing, and public relations required, financial services industry preferred.

  • Exceptional long and short-form copy writing and editing skills

  • Experience with cross-channel copy maximization, including web, email, social media, video scripts and print.

  • Strong knowledge of leading practices in corporate communications and change management impacts

  • Demonstrates ability to work both collaboratively and independently

  • Demonstrates ability to take direction and receive constructive feedback

  • Sense of urgency and responsiveness with the ability to manage multiple task assignments simultaneously and work effectively in a fast-paced environment

  • Strategic thinker, solution-minded; proactive approach with ideas

  • Strong interpersonal relationship skills

  • Detail-oriented and organized

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft suite; including PowerPoint

  • Proficiency with Microsoft SharePoint preferred.

  • CMS (content management system) experience preferred.

  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud a plus.
