Scot Forge Company Technical Librarian in Spring Grove, Illinois

The Technical Librarian is a full time role and will be located in our corporate location in Spring Grove, IL.


  • Support technical research, allocate and control technical documents, and maintain Scot Forge Library.

  • Coordinate and administer Document Management System (DMS) activities.

  • Facilitate seamless exchange of information across systems and improve integration among information systems within the organization.

  • Provide administrative support for Skill Matrix Development.


Required Skills:

  • Bachelor degree in Information Science or related field (or equivalent experience)experience

  • Library management system experience (cataloging, circulation, acquisitions, etc.)

  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office programs

  • Experience in knowledge management and organizational learning

  • Literature searching and in-depth research skills

  • High technical aptitude

Preferred Skills:

  • 3 or more years of significant document management experience

  • 1 or more years of significant library/ market research experience

  • Knowledge of industry standard publishers (ASTM, SAE, ASME)

  • Confident in HTML and CSS use for web design

  • Understanding of data and system migration

  • Experience with SharePoint development

  • Relevant archival work or course experience

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to work independently without significant direct supervision

  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment

  • Forward thinking, with the ability to anticipate and prepare for changing uses of information

  • Commitment to data quality and attention to detail

  • Must be able to pass a hair drug test.
