Staff Management | SMX is currently hiring for a Direct Hire Opportunity for a 3rd shift Electrician for our client at their busy manufacturing facility in Skokie, IL.
3rd Shift - 10pm-6:30am
Install, diagnose, and repair electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment following electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications. Use hand tools, power tools, and electrical and electronic test equipment. Modify electrical/electronic control on industrial manufacturing equipment as required. Install power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment, such as robots, conveyors, and programmable computers following electrical code and blueprints, hand tools and testers. Replace faulty electrical components of machine using hand tools.
Follow safety rules, participate in safety meetings, notify supervisor of unsafe conditions and events hazardous to others and the environment.
Complete paperwork correctly and legibly.
Maintain work area in a clean and safe manner.
Test malfunctioning machinery using test equipment and discuss malfunction with other maintenance workers to diagnose malfunction.
Diagnose and repair faulty electronic components such as printed circuit boards using electronic test equipment and hand tools.
Replace faulty electrical components of machine such as relays, switches, and motors, positioning sensing devices, using hand tools.
Replace faulty electrical components of machine such as relays, switches, and motors. Position sensing devices, using hand tools.
Replace motor bearings and rewires motors.
Plan layout and install wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in buildings.
May diagnose and repair faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machinery and equipment.
Modify existing equipment such as programming, wiring changings and minor engineering upgrades as needed.
Follow the Quality Management System requirements as outlined in the process notes on the press card, the applicable QMS procedures and work instructions; and suggest ways for continual improvement.
Promptly report quality problems and shut down the equipment if unable to resolve.
Follow EHS rules and regulations, participate in safety meetings and CBT, and suggest ways for continual improvement.
Promptly report personal injuries and unsafe conditions and help to resolve them.
Perform related duties as assigned and in a timely manner.
P.C. literate to complete CBT and electrical problem solving.
Technical skills to operate hand and power tools to work safely in a maintenance environment.
Ability to work independently of others with minimal supervision.
Ability to read and understand press cards, procedures, work instructions, safety rules and warning signs.
Ability to perform mathematical calculations required for repairing equipment.
Analytical abilities necessary to plan, prioritize, and complete work on schedule and maintain required records and logs.
Interpersonal skills necessary to exchange information verbally and written with a variety of staff.
Licensed lift truck driver.
Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 60 pounds.
Ability to walk, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb ladders, and working in stationary positions for periods of time.
Normal or corrected visions necessary to read directions, closely examine parts, and distinguish colors.
Normal hearing to detect equipment malfunction
