Air Force Elements, U.S. Transportation Command Supv IT Cybersecurity Specialist in Scott AFB, Illinois

Summary This announcement will fulfill multiple vacancies within Air Force Elements, U.S. Transportation Command, Transportation Command to include the Chief of the Cyber Security Service Provider (CSSP) Protection and Sustainment Branch, and the Chief of the Network Operations and Maintenance Branch. Responsibilities This position is being filled under DoD Modified Direct Hire Authority, Section 1109; PL, 116-92, dated 12/20/2019 . As a Supv IT Cybersecurity Specialist at the NH-2210-4 some of your typical work assignments may include: Plans, organizes, and directs cybersecurity or information network activities ensuring the Command complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs. Develops organization level cyber security policies and directives, such as executive Fragmentary Orders (FRAGORD), Operation Orders (OPORD), Communication Task Orders (CTO) and/or policy letters that fulfill USTRANSCOM cyber security priorities (Chief, CSSP Protection and Sustainment Branch). Provides security engineering technical analysis and recommendations for unique and emerging technologies in support of the Command's Corporate Services Vision and services oriented architecture (Chief, Network Operations and Maintenance Branch). Represents USTRANSCOM at senior-level meetings, conferences, and exercises to articulate and advocate USTRANSCOM and JDDE related cyberspace operations, defense architecture, policy, and operational positions. Ensures integration of required capabilities into supported Combatant Command OPLANS and real world contingencies. Establishing, advocating, and maintaining a cybersecurity vision, standards and strategy to increase Mission Assurance and ensure cyber assets and information technologies are protected. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications You may qualify at the NH-04, if you fulfill the following qualifications: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-03(GS-13) grade level in the Federal service as listed below: Interpreting complex cybersecurity and IT legislative, regulatory, and policy guidance Coordinating/tracking of cybersecurity threats and event / incident management, or network status and maintenance activities. Providing technical input and position on issues related to cybersecurity activities or information network operations. Leads incident response teams, engineering or project teams that provides cybersecurity or information network consultation for the command. Education Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level. Additional Information Other Notes: An Information Assurance (IA) Certification is a condition of employment, with baseline and specialty certifications required at the IA Management Level III qualification and experience levels. Per DoD 8570.01-M, the incumbent of this position must achieve the appropriate IA certification at the IAM Ill level within six months of assignment of these duties. Failure to receive the proper IA certification may result in removal from this position. This position is designated as a key position. Duties of this position are essential to the accomplishment of wartime/contingency operations. Incumbents of key positions must be removed from their military recall status if alternative for filling of the position during an emergency are not available. An Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) certification, Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification is desirable, but not mandatory to be referred for this position. Requires an OGE-450 "Confidential Financial Disclosure Report"
