Footprints to Recovery is growing, and we are hiring for our Sober Living facility in Schaumburg, IL!


The primary role of a Recovery Support Peer is to provide direct and support services to male and female residents in facilitating their road to recovery from substance abuse.


The two main functions of the position are


1) supervision of the residents at the Sober Living facility;


2) ensuring their participation in recovery related services.


The Recovery Support Peer is responsible for a variety of routine tasks essential to the daily operation of the program.


Work is performed in accordance with established regulations, policies and procedures, and the Recovery Coach is expected to exercise significant initiative and independent judgment in all duties while maintaining the level of professionalism that is expected. Work is reviewed and supervised by the Shift Supervisor or Housing Manager while on duty.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES


+ Provide appropriate support and structure for residents in dealing with their recovery; interacts continually with residents.


+ Assist in the supervision of resident activities; maintain awareness of resident whereabouts at all time, including breaks and internal activities.


+ Provide orientation of the housing program in regards to program rules, procedures, and services with each new resident.


+ Attend all mandatory training and in-house conferences/seminars as directed by Housing Manager.


+ Continually updates resident room list ensuring that all new resident admissions and discharges are reported in a timely fashion.


+ Monitor residents for signs of distress and/or behavioral concerns on an ongoing basis through routine bed checks, and addresses and documents where necessary.


+ Completes rounds every half hour to ensure adequate behavior and safety of all residents.


+ Monitor residents cleaning/inspecting rooms for cleanliness/assigning daily chores.
