What will your day look like?
You will be responsible for partnering with our lines of business and for strategically leading the development of risk-based mitigation plans for our lending products and services; including credit card, mortgage, home equity, student loans, consumer loans, auto, commercial and other lending products. In addition, this role will be responsible for developing and enhancing compliance programs tailored to the Unfair, deceptive or abusive acts or practices (UDAAP), fair lending, and Servicemembers Civil Relief Act (SCRA). This role will be responsible for collaborating with her peers to execute our strategic plan for enhancing our Compliance Management System (CMS). The Director, Compliance - Lending & Consumer Protection will participate in compliance examinations and other interactions with our regulatory agencies.

Manage and conduct regulatory program risk assessments for supported lines of business.
Advise business partners on recommended CMS requirements.
Educate business partners on regulators’ expectations of a $10 billion+ financial institution.
Establish and monitor various key performance indicators and ensure risk assessments are completed to offer continual insight to senior management and Board of Directors.
Provide expert consultation to business partners to identify and mitigate risk within their business units.
Serve as primary point of contact with regulators on lending specific exams and question.
Manage and conduct regulatory program risk assessments (e.g., UDAAP, SCRA) across the enterprise.
Maintain policies, standards and procedures related to regulatory programs for UDAAP, SCRA, fair lending, credit bureau reporting and other compliance risks as assigned.
Strategically preempt legal and regulatory challenges by understanding current and future related legislation and regulations for the industry.
Translate strategic and operating plans into meaningful direction of projects, goals, priorities and activities; deliver on strategy through the right people in the right place at the right time.
Provide business vision by creating imagery and transparency in the possibilities, opportunities and direction of the future.
Continual assessment, discerning development, insightful coaching and talent utilization/optimization of subordinate leaders of others.
Capture, analyze, and understand the internal environment, team dynamics, and talent capabilities to address organizational refinement, agility and growth.
Applies great management practices in leading an engaged workforce to effectively deliver the value of this function.
Provides a structured and consistent approach to ensure that individual development plans are in place, performance management is consistent, performance management process is respected and followed, and coaching and feedback are provided on a regular and dynamic basis
What makes you a great fit?
You’ll be a great fit if in addition to a minimum of 10 years of relevant compliance experience, the completion of a Bachelor’s degree or a JD or Master’s Degree (preferred), and you have:
CRCM or CUCE certification strongly desired
Experience with lending is preferred
Demonstrated leadership and management skills required
Broad financial services knowledge and industry best practices for continuously improving a proactive Compliance Management System
Leveraging a systemic tool for workflow management and surveillance
Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated critical thinking and problem solving skills
