U.S. Army Sustainment Command FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT ANALYST in Rock Island, Illinois

Summary

About the Position: This position provides the employee with full benefits, vacation and sick leave. Responsibilities

Utilizing automated systems in the preparation, input, and processing of financial transactions.

Perform analysis of financial data and cost data.

Prepare recurring and non-recurring regulatory and non-regulatory financial reports.

Customize report data to develop metrics/research tools, identify trends, and resolve problematic issues.

Review and integrate financial management guidance and policy statements.

Provide technical advice in identifying and resolving problem areas related to Accounting, Budget, and Resource Management practices.

To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade (GS-9) which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled such as: reviewing financial management guidance; assisting with evaluating the effectiveness of financial program operations; accessing data from automated systems in order to verify the accuracy of financial programs; developing financial graphs, charts, and worksheets; and assisting in identifying and resolving problem areas related to accounting/budget.

You may substitute specialized experience at the GS-11 level with a Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, or completion of all requirements for an LL.M degree from an accredited college or university. Combination of Experience and Education Substitution for Specialized Experience for the GS-11: If you have some, but not all, of the experience or education described above, you may still qualify by combining the amount of creditable experience and education that you possess. To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of graduate education in excess of 36 hours (total semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100% to qualify.

GS-12 Level

To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade (GS-11) which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled such as:Providing advice on how the accounting system functions; performing analysis of financial and budget areas (i.e., transactions, regulations, laws directive and financial system data/reports); preparing customized financial reports to support varied data requirements; interpreting financial management guidance; and identifying potential financial problems, trends or abnormal conditions. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
