General Dynamics Information Technology is looking for Agile Project Manager/Coach in the greater St Louis.

The Global Freight Management (GFM) program is an agile program working within both the Scrum and Kanban agile frameworks and Lean processes to accomplish its software development and delivery activities. The program is a fast paced environment with several teams supporting integrated projects and involving many customer sets and Product and Business Owners.

The Agile Program Manager responsibilities will be focused on planning, leading, organizing, and motivating the Agile project teams to become high performing teams focused on delivering value to their customers and a relentless pursuit of improvement and innovation in their agile delivery processes.

Qualifications :

  • 6+ years experience in software development and project management with Agile/Scrum/Kanban/Lean frameworks and blending into hybrid form if necessary to best fit team and customer needs as a Project Manager, Scrum Master or Agile Coach

  • Plan, execute, monitor, track and report program status using Lean-Agile development processes and practices to various stakeholders

  • Responsible for the financial health of the program and working closely with leverage organizations to enable successful execution of the program

  • Solid understanding of agile management and collaboration tools, such as Jira and Confluence as well as Microsoft Office management tools, such as Project

  • Solid understanding of DevOps and CI/CD methodologies and ability to manage the transformation to a DevOps model

  • Responsible for developing and maintaining project schedules, issues lists, status reports, and meeting agendas with action items

  • Effectively communicates project status, including risks and dependencies to company and customer management

  • Coordinates release plans with other technology offices outside of the program and encourage cross-functional office and team collaboration.

  • Participates in Agile ceremonies and planning and coaches teams and stakeholders when needed to facilitate agile delivery

  • Proven track record in mentoring, coaching, collaborating, and team and consensus building for highly effective and high performing agile teams in order to increase quality output

  • Mentor and coach junior members of the Scrum team and Scrum Masters

  • On-board and train team members on Agile-Scrum processes and practices

  • Experience and passion in relentless pursuit of team and program improvement through retrospectives, improvement backlogs, metrics collection and use

  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills at team, program, and senior leadership level and ability to manage and work through high conflict situations. Attention to detail is critical and effective customer facing skills

  • Serving as a coach for other Scrum Masters and Agile Project Managers and assisting in proposal development work when needed


  • BA or BS or equivalent experience is required

  • Project Management Professional Certification (PMP)

  • Scrum Master certification (CSM)

  • Secret clearance or ability to obtain a Secret clearance
