Position Summary

The Talent Manager serves as a trusted Business Advisor to the organization on HR-related systems, including and especially the development of our people at Athletico. The Talent Manager assesses and anticipates HR-related needs and proactively communicates and drives solutions. The Talent Manager collaborates to build trusted relationships that deliver value and reflect Athletico’s mission, vision and values. The Talent Manager acts as a liaison between various HR functions and across the organization on priorities such as: Talent Assessments, Succession Planning, Talent Architecture, Career Pathing Competency Mapping, and Proficiency Level Assessments to help develop and retain the industry’s best talent, which in turn will drive Athletico to next level growth.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Accountable for communicating about, training for, and executing the talent assessment process where we evaluate key leadership positions across the company. This role is also responsible for reporting outcomes and action-management resulting from the process, to ensure we are developing our people to lead the future generation of Athletico

  • Understands and evaluates how to measure, track, and improve proficiency levels and competencies, both in a 360-degree review setting and as a part of normal performance management checkpoints

  • Owns, understands, and maintains our company’s Talent Architecture to help us segment our population, but also enabling clear visibility into various career paths for advancement and development. Collaborates with other HR functions (HRIS, Compensation, Training) on the maintenance & use of the architecture.

  • Draws connection points between our HR functions as it relates to developing our people - leadership or otherwise

  • Design training tools and provide education to HR Business Partners to support the deployment of the talent programs and processes

  • Lead the internal communication efforts around marketing talent programs and creates/maintains program collateral

  • Evaluate and support program best practices to ensure there is standardization and consistent knowledge-sharing

  • Serve as a resource and consultant to other HR and Field teams, especially the HR Business Partners

  • Determine how to leverage technology for process, administration/facilitation and communication

  • Support other areas of Organizational Effectiveness as needed, such as creating related content for Leadership Development programs, supporting our Performance Management cycle, Onboarding & Offboarding, Inclusion & Diversity, Engagement, and Cultural Initiatives

  • Assist in integration support of any Mergers & Acquisitions activity

  • Ability to lead special projects

Job Requirements/Specifications

Education and Experience: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or similar course of studies from an accredited university or college

  • Minimum of 5 Years of progressive talent management and program management experience

  • Minimum of 8 Years of HR experience

  • Healthcare Industry Experience a plus

  • Previous experience managing a Talent Assessment process, Succession Planning process, and owned/managed/refined/used a Talent Architecture in partnership with an HRIS function

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver and manage talent development programs

  • As an effective program manager, will act as the subject matter expert and lead all efforts related to program design and delivery for the processes which are assigned to him/her

  • Systems thinker with the ability to understand how to design workflows and understand downstream impacts of decisions and approaches

  • Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation communication skills with all levels of an organization.

  • Ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels of an organization.

  • Ability to successfully work, collaborate, and influence change across functions, levels, and diverse employee populations

  • Demonstrates a positive attitude and contributes to a collaborative work environment

  • Resilient with an ability to adapt and manage competing priorities in a changing environment

  • Ability to balance daily/weekly operational needs with longer term development goals of our people

Language Skills
