Kellogg IT Engineer - Voice & Collaboration in OAK BROOK, Illinois

As an IT Engineer – Voice and Collaboration you will manage and optimize our Skype integrated Telecommunications environment, executing Voice Gateway configurations, VoIP network management, Legacy Voice systems integration, Microsoft Skype for Business call routing, and manage Analog PBX systems at remote locations throughout the US. You will also interact with Voice, Network and Collaboration SMEs to deliver an optimal telephony environment for Kellogg North America, while partnering with our global counterparts to support and recommend best practices on their regional telephony deployments. HERE’S A TASTE OF WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

  • Configure, Integrate, Optimize – In this role you’ll manage and optimize our VoIP Skype for Business Telephony environment, including Voice Gateway (Sonus) configuration, call routing, new location and number range setup, Skype for Business configuration and integration with remote location analog and legacy PBX systems. You’ll configure and implement new SIP (VoIP) Skype integrated telephony systems at new locations in the US, and contribute to manage the integration of Skype for Business and our voice systems across multiple telecommunication providers and Kellogg locations. Wow – you won’t just be keeping the pace, but setting it!

  • Monitor and Troubleshoot – We’re looking to you to manage and troubleshoot problems with legacy PBX (Avaya, Merlin, Nortel) telephony systems, including its integration with Skype for Business, Sonus SBS and other VoIP related solutions. Our success is shaped by you.

  • Report and Document – We value your insights. You will follow our change management and project management process during the implementations of new solutions for our end users, and create product documentation to transition new solutions to our sustainment organization.

  • Continuous Improvement – At Kellogg we are continually putting forth effort to improve our products, services, and processes. In this role, you’ll partner with our support organization to identify process gaps and improvement opportunities to automate the administrative processes of our telephony systems, ensuring they are Gr-r-reat!

YOUR RECIPE FOR SUCCESS

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Strong experience managing Skype integrated Voice and Telephony systems, including deployment, configuration and troubleshooting in a large enterprise environment

  • Experience integrating Legacy PBX analog systems with VoIP SIP solutions and Skype based systems

  • Experience administering Voice Gateway technology including call routing, Trunking and DID ranges.

  • Previous experience integrating emergency services 911 systems into Skype based telecommunications environment and legacy SIP environments.

  • Previous experience managing networking, IP Addressing and Subnetting in large enterprise environments

  • Previous experience deploying and managing Skype for Business collaboration technology in an enterprise environment

  • Strong experience troubleshooting complex voice network quality problems to find long term solutions and optimize integrations between data and voice traffic.

  • Team and service-oriented attitudes to lead large initiatives and leverage highly skilled individuals on the successful deployment of new communications & collaboration solutions.

Bonus Points:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or similar

  • Experience managing Microsoft Cloud PBX environments

  • Microsoft O365 Administration Certification

  • VoIP Administration Configuration Certifications
