Crate & Barrel Manager, Accounting in Northbrook, Illinois

The Manager, Accounting will manage all aspects of financial statement preparation and review including the year-end close and audit, and changes to department policies and procedures. This position will ensure the integrity of financial systems, and train and mentor the accounting team.
Prepare and analyze monthly/quarterly internal and external financial statements prepared in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
Review account reconciliations and implement process changes to reduce reconciling items and errors
Review proposed accounting changes, analyze impact/relevance to the Company and work with Controller to implement
Maintain the general ledger and reporting systems
Process accounting transactions
Monitor and support tax-reporting requirements
Prepare consolidation entries and intercompany reconciliations
Oversee the semi-annual physical inventory count and reconciliation
Prepare operational analyses subsequent to the completion of the monthly close
Document processes and procedures
Assist in controlling expenses via follow-up with department heads and managers
Responsible for interviewing, hiring and training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; and appraising performance
7+ years progressive experience in public or corporate accounting, including 1+ year(s) of leadership or management experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
MBA and/or CPA certification preferred
Public accounting experience beneficial
Large ERP (Oracle/SAP) experience a plus
Ability to work independently with limited oversight and to work collaboratively as part of a team
Good analytical skills
Positive attitude and enthusiasm for the job
Possess a complete understanding of applicable company systems, policies and procedures
Good reading, written and verbal language skills (English)
