What you’ll learn & achieve:

Supports UL’s Risk & Insurance Manager regarding all aspects of corporate insurance programs. Responsibilities include compilation of underwriting information and coverage placement, claims administration, and analysis of loss information.

  • Prepares applications for insurance policy renewals. Obtains all supporting documentation, schedules and spreadsheets and verifies the accuracy of same. Assists with submission of renewal documents to the insurance brokers.

  • Assists in the collection, analysis and data input of exposure and policy data for all lines of insurance carried by the Company.

  • Maintains and updates the schedule of insurance for all insurance policies carried by the Company. Responsible for verifying inventory of all insurance policies, reviewing policies for accuracy, and maintaining policies in document management system. Follows up with insurance brokers and carriers to obtain any outstanding policies.

  • Routine insurance request processing, including certificates, insurance premium audit letters, workers’ compensation filings with monopolistic states, policy inquiries and other related inquiries.

  • Interacts with internal colleagues and external vendors to identify and resolve outstanding issues.

  • Review and processes all insurance premium and other department invoices.

  • Review loss notification reports and distributes details to adjusters, insurance broker contacts, the accounting department and other interested parties.

  • Assists with resolution of auto, property, marine cargo, and general liability claims by communicating with adjusters, tracking claim progress, and closing internal files upon claim resolution.

  • Assists with other risk management projects and activities as directed.

What makes you a great fit:

  • Bachelor’s degree in risk management, insurance, business, economics, accounting, real estate, finance or a related discipline is preferred.

  • At least one year of related experience or internship in an insurance brokerage, carrier or in-house risk management department is desired, but not required.

  • Excellent written communication, interpersonal, organizational and telephone communication skills to respond promptly to internal and external inquiries with courtesy and professionalism.

  • Computer skills necessary to enter and manipulate words and data and use standard microcomputer-based software to communicate with others, prepare documentation, and/or analyze data. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including excel, power point and word.
