The Maintenance Tech will be joining the Thomson Linear team in Marengo, IL. Thomson Linear is a subsidiary of Altra Industrial Motion.
n ESSENTIAL DUTIES: n
+ Reports to Operations Management and communicates status of daily scheduled work orders and emergency tasks.
+ Assists with planning and implementing plant improvements and expansions.
+ Creates, schedules, and follow up maintenance assignments, breakdown work orders, Preventative Maintenance (PM) and Predictive Maintenance (PDM) work orders in CMMS (MP2).
+ Day to day trouble shooting, repair, and installation of low and high voltage industrial electromechanical and control systems for production equipment.
+ Maintain and repair machines such as CNC, Non-CNC, manual and automated equipment.
+ Ability to troubleshoot CNC electronics, electrical control systems, hydraulic systems, and PLCs. Experience trouble shooting Fanuc and Mitsubishi Controls.
+ Diagnose cause, malfunction or failure of production equipment and perform corrective and Preventative Maintenance.
+ Work independently in troubleshooting and repair problems with Programmable Logic Controllers.
+ Assist in system startups and operational checkouts on systems including configuration, wiring, calibration, grounding, and power testing.
+ Maintain the parts and material replenishment process for equipment repair to reduce/minimize down time of production.
+ Adhere to all 5S responsibilities to create a safe environment for all Associates.

n COMPETENCIES: n
+ Be able to read, interpret, and modify electrical prints and schematics and document all self-created changes.
+ General understanding and hands on experience with explosion proof and intrinsically safe work environments. Knowledge of app icable NEC and NFPA codes.
+ Understanding of plant electrical systems, including DC voltage and AC voltage from 12V to 480V.
+ Understanding of relay and discrete device control systems.
+ Proficiency in electrical installations with conduit and wiring practices
+ Experience using sensing and control devices. Proximity switches, through beam sensors, laser distance sensors.
+ Experience using both DC and AC motors, VG drives and Servo Controlled Systems.
+ Experience with plant floor automation and office Ethernet, DeviceNet, ControlNet network wiring and fiber optic networks.
+ Support and follow the Lock Out / Tag Out program.
n MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: n
+ Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must successfully complete a blueprint reading course.
+ Minimum two years' experience in writing, programming, and troubleshooting PLC's. (Direct Soft and Control Logix)
