The Procurement team is an integral part of Navistar operations. Accountable for the sourcing of direct material used in the manufacture of our products as well as indirect goods and services, the Procurement department annual purchased value exceeds 80% of Navistar’s $10B revenues.

  • Performs activities related to the purchasing of materials, equipment and services for internal company use.

  • Implements and communicates company policies and procedures for purchasing.

  • Reviews purchase requests for completeness and compliance with company requirements; negotiates with vendors and

  • approves purchases of authorized amounts or size.

  • Maintains and updates purchasing orders, systems, and documentation.

  • Monitors the cost, schedule and performance metrics of contracts and subcontracts.

The Sourcing Specialist is an integral part of the procurement team. The initial goal will be to gain a solid knowledge of the team’s supply base, company and procurement processes, and understanding of the roles and personnel of associated work groups inside Navistar.

  • Implement Category Management Team strategies with respect to managing the development and execution of source

  • changes, design changes, capacity increases, and other cost reduction methods.

  • Coordinates departmental or cross-functional teams to develop and track project timelines.

  • Monitors the project from initiation through implementation including the planning phase.

  • Directly works with suppliers, hosts meetings, and organizes cross-functional activities, to ensure on-time and on-budget

  • completion of the projects.

  • Works closely with company manufacturing plants, develops and monitors critical supplier shipment pipelines to ensure continuous supply.

Basic Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree – Supply Chain - Recent Grads 0-3 years’ experience

Or experienced professionals

  • Type of sourcing or purchasing experience

  • Spend you were responsible for and your yearly cost savings

  • Direct purchasing experience (type) vs. indirect (marketing, IT, HR)

  • Experience negotiating part prices and contracts

  • Industry experience (Mfg.)
