Pactiv Senior Accountant in Lake Forest, Illinois

Pactiv Evergreen is currently looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team at our location in Lake Forest, IL.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepare footnote disclosures and financial statements and all other components of SEC filings, including Forms 8-K, 10-K, and 10-Q.

  • Liaise with external auditors to facilitate the completion of their quarterly reviews and annual audit.

  • Manage documents for SEC filings and assist with the XBRL review.

  • Assist in the preparation of certain accounting areas and analysis supporting the close process.

  • Lead/participate in special projects and accounting transactional items as applicable.

  • Partner with business leaders as well as accounting and finance team to identify necessary operational improvements to create and implement procedures to help streamline various processes.

  • Maintain internal controls over financial reporting processes.

To be considered, a candidate must possess:

  • BA/BS in accounting

  • Minimum 4 years of related work experience required. Experience at a large, multi-national, corporation or at a public accounting firm strongly preferred

  • CPA strongly preferred

  • Prior SEC financial reporting experience preferred

  • Experience with large, automated financial systems (SAP, etc.) and/or consolidation systems (HFM, etc.)

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Comfortable communicating across different levels of the organization

  • Ability to work effectively and independently while managing concurrent deadlines and multiple priorities

  • Strong process skills with a demonstrated ability to drive change

  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both written and verbal forms; strong interpersonal skills, and organizational skills

  • Fully competent in MS Office including strong Excel, database, and query capabilities
