Oracle Technical Writer 4-ProdDev in Itasca, Illinois
Creates, develops, plans, writes and edits operational, instructional, maintenance, test or user manuals for paper, multimedia or web-based publications. Contributes to the timely design, production and delivery/completion of product documentation and document sets.
As a member of the technical writing division, you will organize and prepare information for publication and develop publication concepts for the best communication of subject matter. Review technical information prepared by other staff members for clarity and content. Take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures.
Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.

Skills and Experience
Moderate to advanced knowledge of Cloud compliance or information security principles
Proven ability to write technical documentation and product marketing documents (web copy, white papers, data sheets, etc)
4-5 years of experience writing documentation for Cloud services and products
Experience working with SMEs and cross-functional teams across multiple time zones
Experience in developing external and internal engineering documentation
Knowledge of Wiki markup, HTML, CSS, and XML (DITA or OSCAL)
Strong analytical and information gathering skills
Experience working with DITA
Experience using structured authoring, desktop publishing, and graphics software tools
Experience using Confluence to develop large document libraries
Impeccable English writing skills
Ability to learn new technologies quickly
Ability to establish and follow style and usage guidelines
Strong time management and prioritization skills
Experience capturing and maintaining institutional knowledge
Experience using enterprise-grade bug-tracking systems such as JIRA
Strong team player attributes with outstanding communication, organization, and interpersonal skills

We are seeking candidates from the United States or Canada for this position. Oracle offers a flexible work location policy. You can choose to work remotely or from an Oracle office closest to you or a combination thereof.
