NATURE AND SCOPE OF POSITION
Under the supervision of the Office Manager or Practice Administrator this position assists in the delivery primary health care and patient case management in addition of care to Occupational Health clients and care coordination. Completes assigned duties efficiently, always keeping accuracy and confidentiality as the highest concern, supporting Clinical staff in the provision of optimal Patient Care.

Greets patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous and helpful manner.
Completes initial triage assessment and initiates patient care as clinically appropriate
Demonstrates strong assessment skills and the ability to recognize and initiate emergent patient care as clinically appropriate
Enters information in the medical record including triage assessment and vital signs,
verifies and updates necessary information in the medical record such as allergies and medications.
Assists patients with ambulatory difficulties in a safe manner.
Answers telephones, screens calls, takes accurate messages and provides information to patients and staff.
Completes medical forms and patient charts for physician charges, diagnosis and procedure codes.
Performs vision testing.
Collects specimens for rapid testing and throat swabs for cultures.
Collects urine specimens as instructed, takes blood per protocol and ensures they are labeled and sent to lab appropriately.
Performs breathing treatments.
Performs stat EKG and cardiac monitoring with the knowledge of core ACLS arrhythmias
Assists Provider during gynecological exams
Obtains bedside finger stick glucose measurement
Performs IV insertion
Administers oral, intradermal, subcutaneous, intramuscular, inhaled, and intravenous medications per protocol after completing a period of supervised training.
Takes clinical responsibility for own departmental area.
Faxes registration to the lab, and arranges transportation of specimens to the lab.
Maintains stock in all clinical areas and orders lab supplies and coordinates with supply person to ensure departmental specific supplies are maintained at adequate level.
Has knowledge of infection control and blood born pathogens.
Consistently models professional behavior and demonstrates leadership in a variety of situations.
Collaborates with interdepartmental staff to provide quality patient care throughout visit.
Functions as a preceptor/clinical resource to staff on the unit and submits constructive written evaluation when requested.
Guides and supervises assigned nursing personnel in delivering patient care.
Accepts and profits from coaching.
Seeks and accepts assignments relevant to clinical practice and site based programs.
Complies with site and departmental policies and guidelines as determined by office manager, clinical leads, medical director, CPC network and Centegra Health System.
Communicates patient, physician and staff concerns, relating to Office manager or site leader in time to resolve conflicts and facilitate departmental effectiveness.
Shows initiative and assumes responsibility for patient care and site departmental work.
Actively participates in patient satisfaction and Quality Assurance programs based on site.
Demonstrates flexibility in assisting in other offices if needed
Integrates the CHS values into each of the responsibilities of the job and daily communication with our customers and co-workers.
Attends department meetings and participates in department inservices/educational opportunities.
Functions in an advanced clinical role demonstrating expert knowledge in the care of a specific patient population: Infant to Geriatric
Serves as a clinical resource to other clinicians in the care of patient population
Originates and implements ideas leading to performance improvement in patient care and operational structure.

- Associates or Bachelors degree in Nursing required preferably with experience in an Occupational Health and Immediate Care and/or Emergency Department setting.
- Licensed RN – required and in good standing
- Computer literacy – required
- Analytical skills necessary in order to gather and interpret routine data, maintain patient records, organize workflow and prioritize patient needs.
- CPR certified (current or willingness to obtain) - required
- ACLS certified (current or willingness to obtain) – required
- Physical ability to perform functional requirements as detailed.
- Ability to draw blood- preferred Good communication, organizational, and problem solving skills required.
- Knowledge in Systoc database.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT and ICD-10 coding helpful.
- Spirometry certification.
- Experience in an Immediate Care or Emergency Department Setting
