Tyson Foods Heavy Skilled Operator - APRIL21 - JOSLIN, IL in Hillsdale, Illinois


This position is responsible for entry level non-skilled heavy lifting general labor while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.


This position could work in either harvest or processing departments of this beef processing facility. Operative jobs require a higher skill level. Jobs include: heavy/detailed knife work, saw operation and/or VM operation. May require climbing stairs/ladders. Simultaneous use of both hands. Lifting requirement varies from 0-60 lbs.

These positions work in a cold, damp or hot and humid environment and these areas have slippery walking surfaces.

Positions are physically demanding. Continuous repetitive motion jobs. Lifting - Pushing - Pulling various weights up to 60 pounds. Standing 8 - 10 hours per day on concrete floor.

Applicants must be willing and able to work A and B shift hours.

Must be willing to work a 5 - 6-day work week; as well as any other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Must be willing and able to work in the following work environments’;

Harvest: Includes harvesting of the animal which includes detailed knife work, saw operation and processing offal products. Environment is wet, humid, and hot. Temperatures are seasonal and can be greater than 90 degrees.

Processing: Includes further processing of beef products to include detailed knife work, saw operation and VM operator. Environment is wet and cold and ranges in temperature from 35 to 45 degrees.
