Accountemps is searching for a Staff Accountant for an opportunity with a company in the Manufacturing industry. As a Staff Accountant, you'll be responsible for preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. When it's time for the monthly close, you'll be responsible for various aspects of internal reporting. In addition, you will participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This position involves a good deal of time spent on producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Key responsibilities

• Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll

• Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting

• Complete month end close, journal entries, without supervision

• Commentate on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner

• Partake in annual closing processes

• Manage capital lease and monthly payment schedules

• Help with the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

• Take part in various department-wide initiatives

• Maintain fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation

• Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed

Requirements

• Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases

• Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required

• Self-starter and strong ethical standards

• Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus

• Recent and relevant accounting experience

• Ability to meet deadlines

• Command of Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Sage 50 experience

• Accounts Payable (AP) experience

• BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

• Proficient with spreadsheets and databases

• Knowledgeable of ERP systems

• Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment

• The ideal candidate will be highly-skilled with exceptional analytical, quantitative and social skills
