We are currently seeking a Phlebotomist for the Offsite Laboratory department for the northern territory of NorthShore. Locations/may/include Vernon Hills, IL, Buffalo Grove, IL, Lake Bluff and Lake Forest, IL and Mundelein, IL. This is a full-time position and is benefits-eligible. Must be able to work varying start times between 7:00am and 10:30am depending on the business need. Must be able to work rotating weekends. Must be able to work at other NorthShore locations, as needed by the business.
In this role, you will:
Perform a variety of routine and special phlebotomy procedures as authorized by the Manager/Director
Responsible for ordering tests into the Laboratory and Hospital computer systems and documenting Lab receipt of specimens
Collect patient specimens in accordance with test requirements and in a manner which is appropriate for the age and/or specific patient population served
Collect blood samples for specific tests ensuring volume is adequate and correct tubes are utilized
Our ideal candidate will have:
High School diploma, GED or equivalent work experience required
CPR certification required.
PBT (ASCP) certification preferred
Completion of a phlebotomy program with 120 hours of clinical experience or six (6) months phlebotomy experience.
Good communication and organizational skills
Strong customer service skills
