Job Summary: The cook prepares specified menu items for patients, cafeteria, and catered services and ensures adherence to sanitation, safety and food handling procedures.
Essential Job Functions:
1.Cooperates with supervisor to plan a daily production schedule.
2.Prepares menu items following standardized recipes.
3.Adheres to established food handling and sanitation procedures.
4.Ensures correct temperatures, appearance, and quality prior to meal services.
5.Prepares servers on portion control and presentation of foods.
6.Maintains required production daily temperature reports.
7.Maintains and operates equipment.
8.Ensures labels and dates on all food items.
High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
Minimum of two years cooking experience in institutional setting.
Required License(s): 1. State of Illinois ANSI Food Handlers Certificate required prior to start of employment for employees working on their Food Service Sanitation Manager Certificate.
- State of Illinois Food Service Sanitation Manager Certificate required within three (3) months of hire.
