Marklund is seeking a highly motivated and mission-centered Part-TimeCook. This position has a schedule of 1st Week: Sunday 12pm-6pm, Friday 12:30pm-6:30pm, Saturday 5am-1pm and second week: Sunday 5am-1pm, Wednesday 12:30-6:30pm, and Saturday 12:30-6:30 pm. This position is located at the Marklund Wasmond Center in Elgin, IL (formerly named “Little Angels”).
Who We Are:
Marklund is a nonprofit organization that serves infants, children, teens and adults with serious and profound developmental disabilities and special healthcare needs. With three residential locations – the Marklund Hyde Center in Geneva, the Marklund Philip Center in Bloomingdale, and the Marklund Wasmond Center in Elgin, it is currently home to nearly 174 clients. It is a Day School offering Multi-Needs and Life Skills programs for children and young adults with multiple medical needs, and those diagnosed on the Autism Spectrum. It is a skilled nursing unit for medically fragile children and adults, and a developmental training center for adults who need assistance in managing their disabilities.

Essential Job Functions (include but are not limited to):
Prepares high quality meals following recipes, portion controls, presentation specifications and client therapeutic diets
Assists in kitchen as needed

Must possess current Illinois Department of Public Health Foodservice Sanitation Certificate
High School Diploma
Must be able to communicate effectively with staff & clients and read/write English
Some experience in food preparation desired, experience with pureed foods a plus
Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job and to meet its functional and environmental requirements
