A main aspect of this position is performing underwriting and analysis for prospective or existing commercial borrowers whose exposure is typically in excess of $500,000. The credit analyst determines the level of risk and assists the loan officers and Loan Committees in deciding if a loan or line of credit will be granted. This position's primary duty consists of the exercise of discretion and independent judgment with matters of significance in reference to credit and lending.Essential Duties:Assist in the preparation and review of applications presented to the Loan Committees.Perform annual loan reviews on commercial relationships.Maintain financial statement and tax return tickler system.Track borrowing base calculations.Track approved guidance lines of credit.Analyze financial statements and complete ratio, trend, and cash flow analysis of statements to determine if a customer is eligible for financing and determine appropriate risk rating.Communicate with loan officers and customers to obtain information needed, and to structure loans to minimize risk.Monitor accounts for loan agreement compliance.Assist with collateral inspections (ex. floor plans, livestock audits, inventory audits, etc.)Abide by all of the Bank's policies and procedures.Review files prior to external audits and exams to ensure all necessary documentation is in file and analyzed.Distribute final packets for Loan Committee meetings.Work with the Bank's external loan review firm, the regulatory agencies, and external auditors.Train and develop credit analysts.Manage schedule of upcoming renewals for Loan Committee meetings.Prepare various reports for the Board of Directors.Record minutes at Loan Committee meetings.Assist with preparation of the Allowance for Loan and Lease Losses ("ALLL") calculation.Secondary Duties:Other duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Must demonstrate our core values of Integrity, Value, Service Excellence, Teamwork.Proficient in Microsoft Office (extensive experience with Excel)Analytical skillsStrong communication skills (verbal and written)Ability to meet deadlinesOrganizational skillsDetail-oriented focusProblem-solving abilitiesDecision-making skillsKnowledge of finance and accountingDeductive reasoning abilitiesKnowledge of the Bank's Core systems (Core Director and Synergy) or the ability to adapt to new softwareWork Schedule:This position requires 40 hours each week with the majority of work being completed between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Some evenings are necessary to meet deadlines. Travel is minimal to meet with customers, go to branches, and attend conferences/training.Physical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is frequently required to sit, with some standing, walking, and reaching with hands and arms necessary. Minimal weight is lifted for this position, and clear, close vision with the ability to adjust focus is neces sary.Education and Experience:Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field OR experience equivalencyMinimum 3 years of experience working as a credit analyst or equivalentExperience analyzing large and/or complex credits (ex. SBA, municipal, Commercial Real Estate Development, Commercial and Industrial, etc.)Strong knowledge of analyzing financial statements and tax returnsWork Environment:This job operates in an office setting.
