Children's Home and Aid Data Support Specialist in East St. Louis, Illinois

Children’s Home & Aid’s Child Care Assistance Program administers subsidized child care for eligible parents and families throughout 7 counties in Southern Illinois. The Data Support Specialist works as a key team member in the Child Care Assistance Program, acting as the hub of client intake and setting the pace for services. The minimum starting pay for this position is $11 per hour. Starting salary is adjusted based on skills and experience.

Responsibilities include:

  • Interact with all members of CCAP team, receiving incoming client information and then validating and distributing it to the appropriate team member.

  • Enter handwritten client information into the online CCAP database.

  • Maintain a database of child care providers, community resources, and records.

  • Perform other data entry tasks, which include general keyboarding and scanning documents.

  • Receive and sort incoming mail.

  • Provide backup support for receptionist, as needed.


  • High School Diploma or GED required; some college preferred.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products; keyboarding experience required.

  • Data entry experience preferred.

  • Must have effective time management skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects.

  • Desire to work collaboratively with teammates and the public required.
