Primary Responsibilities:

  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert

  • Assist supervisor with daily reports

  • Manage the intake of members or the admission/discharge information post notification

  • Work with hospitals, clinics, facilities and the clinical team to manage request for services

  • Manage the referral process

  • Provide appropriate triage and care coordination notification cases for non-clinical assessment / intervention

  • Resolve inquiries from members and / or providers

  • Accurately manages multiple technology systems simultaneously

  • Accurately documents interaction and appropriately follow all processes and procedures related to engagement

  • High telephonic proficiency, with a focus to meet daily assigned contact metrics and ability to multi - task

  • Build rapport and establishes trusted relationships with members via daily outbound and inbound calls

  • Provide excellent customer service

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED (or higher)

  • 2+ years of Prior Medical / Healthcare experience or 1+ years working in customer service role or 1+ years of experience providing Telephonic consulting or counseling

  • 1+ year experience working with medical terminology

  • Computer proficiency, to include strong data entry, utilizing Microsoft Office including Microsoft Word (able to create, edit, copy, save & send documents,) Microsoft Excel (able to create, edit, copy, save & send spreadsheets), Microsoft PowerPoint (able to create, edit, copy, save & send presentations), Microsoft Outlook (sending / receiving emails and calendar invites), and the ability to type and talk at the same time while navigating a Windows environment

  • Must be able to type and have the ability to navigate a Windows based environment

  • Must reside in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high speed internet connection or can leverage existing high - speed internet service

  • Ability to travel up to 10% to local office(s) to accommodate business needs

  • Ability to work evening hours, and possible weekends to accommodate business needs

  • Ability to work Monday - Friday to 8:00 am - 4:30 pm: as well as the flexibility to work two - three evening shifts per week from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm (within the candidates’ time zone)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a hospital, physician's office or medical clinic setting

  • Clerical or administrative support background or experience working in a call center environment

  • Experience working with Medicare and / or Medicaid Services

  • Experience working with health care insurance

  • Bilingual - Fluency in English and Spanish
