Honeywell R&D Technician in Des Plaines, Illinois

The desired candidate will work a rotating 12-hour shift schedule, alternating between day and night shift every two weeks. Work shifts are 6am to 6pm for days, 6pm to 6am for nights, and include holidays and weekends.

Provide pilot plant support for R&D customers, Manufacturing, and Sales Support. Your work will include conducting pilot plant startups and shutdowns, monitoring and adjusting process conditions, troubleshooting, and preparing and collecting samples while promoting safety excellence.

Become proficient in the Honeywell Operating System (HOS) and contribute to continuous improvement efforts on area work processes to improve the group’s effectiveness in supporting the development of the latest catalysts, adsorbents, and process technologies. Collect, organize, interpret, and compare data against expected performance.

Job Duties Include:

Ability to lift, handle, and dispense 5 gallon pails and 55 gallon drums

Occasional lifting and manipulation of bags, samples, and other objects up to 50 pounds may be required

Handling of chemicals and other hazardous and non-hazardous chemicals is required

Ability to wear a full-face respirator as well as understanding per OSHA guidelines any facial hair that interferes with the seal of the respirator is not permitted

YOU MUST HAVE

High School Diploma or GED

Strong communication skills

Compliance with HS&E policies and procedures

Creative problem solving, troubleshooting, and data analysis skills

Able to safely accomplish multiple tasks simultaneously

Proficient in arithmetic with working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)

Previous hands-on technician experience is preferred
