The Manufacturing Project Engineer requires a high degree of experience and expertise in specific fields of Six Sigma, Lean, safety, quality, manufacturing, and supply chain. To provide project management expertise and guidance in development of major manufacturing and supply chain projects, working with cross-functional teams to problem solve and continuously improve. The incumbent would possess a good understanding of Lean principles combined with Six Sigma expertise to provide superior project leadership. This role will drive process improvement projects using Lean tools and methodologies – eliminating waste, improving efficiency, and driving standard work.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

Lead process improvement projects, using Lean and Six Sigma DMAIC principles to drive efficiency

Train and develop team members on Lean principles and process disciplines

Implement Lean processes within a manufacturing environment to improve business results

Identify project opportunities, defining and financially justifying needs / potential impacts

Establish measures to monitor the impact of process improvements, as well as develop reporting process for other key metrics tied to critical business needs

This position will manage, and support projects related to process transformations using Lean, Six Sigma and project management methodologies

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in a Technical discipline or Business

5-10 years of experience in leading and supporting Lean continuous improvement

Six Sigma training, with demonstrated evidence of leading successful process improvement projects

Top Candidates will also have

Six Sigma Black Belt training and experience as a Six Sigma Black Belt

Strong project management experience and knowledge

Proven analytical skills and capabilities. Ability to think through a process holistically and make well researched recommendations to stakeholders.

Ability to build strong relationships with various stakeholders and process partners

Strong business acumen, understanding of critical customer needs and how process improvements tie to the success of the broader business

Proven leadership ability, courage to help others break through resistance to change, and strong communication skills

Cross-functional knowledge and experience in at least one of the following areas: Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, Engineering

Proven ability to lead cross functional teams, manage multiple projects concurrently, and hold team members accountable for delivering on timelines/results

Solid project management and team leadership skills

Strong communication skills
