This job was posted by https://illinoisjoblink.illinois.gov : For more information, please see: https://illinoisjoblink.illinois.gov/ada/r/jobs/6151434 IT TECHNICIANResponsibilities: Providing service and customer support during field visits or dispatches Managing all on site installation, repair, maintenance and test tasks Diagnosing errors or technical problems and determining proper solutions Setting up hardware and installing and configure software and drivers Maintaining and repairing technological equipment (e.g. routers) or peripheral devices Installing well-functioning LAN/WAN and other networks and manage components (servers, IPs etc.) Develop a familiarity with all internal hardware/software systems and local networks. Troubleshoot problems with hardware/software (e.g. viruses, intrusion software, system overload, storage space issues). Perform regularly scheduled maintenance activities with appropriate timing. Maintain inventory and physical location of all hardware devices. Provide feedback to Information Technology Manager regarding possible solutions to reoccurring issues and complex technical issues. Format/configure new workstations with computers and other devices. Recommend strategies to prevent downtime. Work with Network Administrator to develop best practices to increase network security Tie workflow to schedule Produce timely and detailed service reports Document processes Cooperate with technical team and share information across the organization Comprehend customer requirements and make appropriate recommendations/briefings Build positive relationships with customers Requirements: Sound knowledge of computer hardware/software, internet security, privacy, networks, servers and operating systems. Proven field service experience Ability to troubleshoot, test, repair and service technical equipment Excellent verbal and written communication in English language Ability to work flexible shifts and to adapt to changing work schedules Familiarity with mobile tools and applications Exceptional organizing, documenting, ticket management and time-management skills Effective analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to train internal users. At least 4 years experience working as an IT Technician or relevant roles. (It can be less formal experience but salary will be determined on knowledge and experience) Preference for completed degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant fields but not required. Product or Technical Certifications (e.g. A+, Network+, Server+, CCNA, MCSA, Cyber Security) is a plus.
