The Account Technology Strategist (ATS) within the US Department of Army ATU is a high profile, customer-facing role that is the primary technical face and orchestration point for customers. Candidates should have a strong, proven IT background and demonstrate familiarity with the broad range of Microsoft products and solutions. The candidate must be able to build and maintain “trusted advisor” relationships with CIOs, CTOs, Enterprise Architects, and IT Directors, drive adoption of Microsoft products and solutions, and identify new opportunities for MS within the account. The ATS works closely with the Account Executive and Technical Account Managers to help define and execute territory and account strategies. You will be responsible for developing the account technology vision and strategy to support the overall business objectives for Microsoft and customers. You will lead technical resources in communicating the value of Microsoft’s products, solutions and partners to a broad range of people across the US Dept of Army customers, and drive relationships with technical leaders from senior executives and down. The role includes coordinating and guiding the account team on all technology related matters. A strong leader is required to ensure Microsoft deploys its best resources, well-briefed, in front of the customer. Understanding of the competitive landscape within Defense environment is required.
Microsoft is looking for a self-starter who is passionate about making immediate contributions in the following areas:
Orchestrate project meetings with key customers to ensure close cooperation and collaboration between customer project teams and Microsoft resources.
Work with IT decision-makers to understand its business, IT initiatives and mission
Coordinate and collaborate with the Microsoft DoD Chief Technology Officer, Chief Architect and the other military service account teams to share strategies and ensure a consistent solution message across all DoD.
Identify key MUST WIN project areas and resources needed to succeed - including STU, Product Groups, Services and partners
Identify key technical competitive threats and develop a strategy - including partners and services - to counter & win.
Develop yourself as a technical leader at Microsoft and in the military community
Develop key relationships with Microsoft product teams
Ensure successful implementation, value capture, and customer satisfaction with Microsoft solutions by working in concert with Microsoft Premier technical support, Microsoft Consulting Services and Microsoft partners
5+ year’s information technology industry experience to include strong enterprise-scale solutions architecture and implementation;
Significant technical breadth across infrastructure, information worker and application development technologies
Pre-sales or strategic consulting and project/program management experience with Department of Defense (DOD) customers;
Significant CXO contact and persuasive presentations;
Practical knowledge of Microsoft enterprise technology or competitive strategies and solutions;
Exceptional leadership, negotiation, organizational, creative, presentation, written, and verbal communication skills;
MCSE or equivalent professional certification is a plus.
Excellent understanding of the competitive landscape within Defense environment; Anticipated travel is up to 50%.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication, analytical and presentation skills are required.
Candidate must possess demonstrated decision making, problem solving, cross team collaboration and negotiation skills.
BA/BS or MS degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline is preferred.
Cloud Screening: Candidates must be able to successfully complete and pass a Microsoft Cloud background screening. Required Cloud Screenings will be administered on a recurring bi-annual basis
The successful candidate must be a U.S. Citizen.
