How will you make an impact?
Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Field Service organization is seeking a Supervisor, Field Service Engineers who will be responsible for handling a team of highly skilled service engineers. They are primarily responsible for enhancing the quality of services being provided to customers. The Supervisor, Field Service Engineers will conduct a thorough research to understand the exact needs of the customers. Will ensure that the services are delivered efficiently within contractual timelines and policies.
Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
What will you do?
Schedule and participate in training field service personnel.
Monitor spare parts inventory and ensure adequate supplies are available.
Determine necessary parts and quantities for car stock.
Maintain skills as subject matter expert in all advanced product areas by working closely with product managers and attending trainings as needed.
Provide technical direction, scheduling and supervision to multiple field service personnel, including full-time employees and subcontractors.
Coach and mentor direct reports.Work with in-house personnel and system support specialists to establish and maintain depot analysis, repair, and reliability tracking procedures.
Develop and maintain Field Service training programs.
Develop and maintain Field Service Manuals.
Maintain software and databases for technical support, field service, and all reporting functions.
Create or update Field Service Engineers SOPs.
Oversee the Field Service Engineers to meet or exceed quality regulations and standards.
How will you get here?
Associate degree in Electronics Technology, Biomedical Engineering, Life Sciences or equivalent certifications and/or experience.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or any Life Sciences is preferred
Experience leading a team for 5 years is preferred
Minimum 10 years of directly relevant experience working in field service
Proven leadership and first-line supervisor experience
Ability to develop high levels of credibility and forge solid and positive professional relationships with subordinates, peers, upper management and the customer base
Strong leadership skills with a focus on team building
Strong project management and organizational skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Work independently and in a team environment with little supervision
Ability to multi-task and work in a deadline-driven environment
Demonstrate flexibility, adaptability and dependability
Strong skills using MS Office, and related software
Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 75%
Superior organizational skills with ability to multi-task and balance complex and routine work activities.
Demonstrated ability to facilitate cross-functional teams, influence business partners and get results through others. High-level business acumen.
Advanced interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work as a team player and team builder.
Excellent communication skills for group presentations and intercompany written and verbal communications.
