NORC at the University of Chicago is seeking a motivated Senior Software Engineer to design, implement and support software applications used by NORC staff and clients.
We’re looking for a senior engineer (5+ years’ experience) with natural product intuition who can work harder, faster, and smarter without sacrificing technical excellence. Our organizational challenges are unique, so you should be comfortable in uncharted territory and pumped to build systems that impact many lives.
DEPARTMENT: APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT
NORC IT produces high quality, processing intensive software designed to improve project efficiency and accuracy while at the same time providing a cost savings benefit. We have experts on staff in all industry recognized platforms, development environments, and data management systems.
5+ years' experience working with commonly used application frameworks and related technologies
Experience with: Python, Django, iOS, and Android a plus
Career experience in all phases of software development, including requirements, design, implementation, support and the product release cycles
Familiarity with software development methodologies
Bachelor's Degree from accredited college or university, or equivalent experience
Candidates should also possess: strong analytical skills, strong written and verbal communication, programming, testing, technical documentation Abilities required: detail oriented, efficient at multi-tasking, works well in groups or solo, ability to lead, process-driven approach to work and an ability to work under time pressure and in a dynamic environment.
