We’re looking for a motivated senior product manager to join our team! This role is responsible for the strategic positioning of a product throughout its lifecycle, including: defining the vision of the product category; gathering and prioritizing market requirements; and working in conjunction with sales, marketing, engineering, and supply chain in order to satisfy our customers and meet the strategic and financial goals of the organization.

Manages one or more of the larger product categories.
Defines product “go to market” strategy including:
Branding, pricing and stocking strategy
Establish product road map / multi-year plan
Market positioning strategy: Good/Better/Best
Lead execution of category strategy to profitably grow the business.
Refines the product offering to best fit customer needs and company goals through new product introductions, line reviews and exit strategies for unsuccessful product lines.
Selects and manages the product offering, including national brand and private label offerings
Acts as the subject matter expert for the product categories by leveraging industry knowledge and insight and through ongoing customer and supplier interactions, market research and participation in relevant trade events.
Prepares annual business plans, which include activities to improve category performance.
Manages Product Category P&L statement.
Consult and review on all product information in Product Information Management System,, which is used to populate product information for the catalogs, website and promotional pieces.
Creates/participates in promotional campaigns to increase product awareness and market share.
Works with the Product Sourcing Department to ensure a stable and quality vendor base and supports Sourcing Department negotiation with supplier to ensure optimal product quality, cost, and delivery conditions.
Prepares product training materials for sales team and conducts new sales representative training sessions.
Works in conjunction with sales personnel and customers to better understand market needs.
Attends and participates in industry conferences, conventions, and trade shows.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university required. Business or Marketing preferred.
Minimum of six years' related experience in industrial distribution, purchasing, sales, product management or marketing.
Minimum of 2 years in a product management capacity, with a demonstrated track record of success.
Private Label experience preferred.
Possesses and applies a broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of particular field of specialization to the completion of moderately difficult assignments. Assignments are broad in nature, usually requiring originality and ingenuity. Has appreciable latitude for un-reviewed actions and decisions.
Strong business acumen.
Strong project management skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
PC literacy in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
