Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese Senior Center Assistant in Chicago, Illinois

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS* of the position are detailed below, and include any physical requirements below that.

  1. Provides clerical support to the Senior Center Manager.2. Complies with food safety and sanitation guidelines according to local, state, and federal guidelines for assigned location.3. Receives food from caterer each morning and ensures the quantity received matches what was ordered.4. Measures the temperature of the food upon receipt and at prescribed intervals throughout the day and documents temperature findings.5. Ensures meals are served at the correct times and at the correct temperature for consumption.6. Provides assistance with events/activities that occur at the Senior Center.7. Provides receptionist support by greeting participants and assisting participants, as needed.8. Ensures compliance with all agency/programmatic policies and procedures, professional standards, and external requirements of all relevant regulatory, licensing or accrediting bodies while performing job duties.9. In the absence of the Senior Center Manager, assigns work to volunteers and part-time staff.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:

Preferred: High School

Minimum: GED

EXPERIENCE:

Preferred: 3 Years

in food service industry preferably in Senior Facility setting

Minimum: 1-2 Years

in food service industry

CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE:

Preferred: Valid Food Sanitation Certificate

Minimum: Must acquire Food Sanitation Certificate within 3 months of hire date
