Google Sales Development Manager, Vertical Lead in Chicago, Illinois

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience

  • 5 years of experience in digital marketing, account planning, marketing research, and/or consulting

  • Experience with leveraging research and research tools

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience creating and executing solutions, narratives, and strategies at scale through project management

  • Experience influencing and working collaboratively across cross-functional teams, building relationships internally and externally

  • Demonstrated strategic and analytical sales approach, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and manage multiple priorities

  • Ability to see granular as well as big picture issues

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills

This role will serve as a strategic thought partner that delivers throughout the business cycle for vertical partners, from business intelligence and insights to high impact pitches and sales narratives that drive business growth.

You will partner with the Performance Vertical - a scaled vertical, spanning multiple industries and business models for the Large Customer Sales’ team initiatives.

You will serve as a key strategic partner to the Industry Director and as a member of the vertical management team. To help drive growth and transformation across the business, you'll promote client conversations through strategic storytelling and actionable insights. You will ensure that scalable, client-centered narratives are developed to drive business growth across your assigned vertical.

You will also oversee the development of high quality, end-to-end custom research in order to uncover novel and actionable ideas that optimally position Google’s product offerings and drive business strategies.

Our Large Customer Sales teams partner closely with many of the world’s biggest advertisers and agencies to develop digital solutions that build businesses and brands. We enjoy a bird’s eye view on the massive transformation occurring as advertising shifts to mobile and online platforms. We're uniquely situated to help shape how companies grow their businesses in the digital age. We advise clients on Google's broad range of products across search, video and mobile to help them connect instantly and seamlessly with their audiences.

  • Apply your vertical sales and marketing knowledge to drive incremental growth

  • Author key narratives and pitches that enable the vertical to elevate their customer conversations with a key focus on executive summits, C-Level meetings, etc.

  • Work closely with the Head of Sales Development Manager and the Industry Director to execute vertical priorities

  • Partner with the Heads of Industry, Account Executives, Analytical Leads, and Product Specialist teams to deliver on strategic goals

  • Work alongside Research, Marketing, and other Sales Development Managers to amplify message internally and externally via conferences, publications, podcasts, etc.
