Seeking a full time permanent Research Epidemiologist for Outcomes Research in the Chicago area.
Temporarily remote due to COVID but will need the candidate to work onsite once it is safe to re-open the office.
Lead healthcare research design, implementation, and analyses within a large healthcare system. This position will oversee, monitor, and review all aspects and phases of individual research studies or multiple studies within a program of research through oversight of research staff, correspondence with funders and internal and external collaborators, ensuring timelines and deliverables are met, and dissemination of research findings to advance the science. This position will also act as principal investigator (PI) and support federal, public, and private grant submissions. This position may also act as a coinvestigator or other engaged roles as required. This position requires the ability to be an informal leader to ensure project completion within the Patient Centered Outcomes Research (PCOR) service line, institution and external collaborators.
Collaborate with project teams in developing and implementing research plans and protocols, conducting statistical analyses, and preparing reports, abstracts and manuscripts.
Serve as project leader with scientific responsibilities on complex scientific and technical components of large projects or a series of smaller projects.
Serve as the liaison between company and funders to ensure that all legal and regulatory requirements and budgets are being met and payments are timely and appropriate.
Provide mentorship to research assistants, coordinators, and other project staff.
Perform complex quantitative statistical analyses with minimal oversite.
Lead dissemination efforts through presentations, manuscripts, and professional networking
Doctorate degree in related area of Health Science Research (epidemiology, public health, science related).
Typically requires 3 years of experience in epidemiology, biostatistics, bioinformatics, health economics, implementation science, or public health research with a minimum of two years postgraduate experience in performing research in a designated field. Investigator on federal award is a strong positive.
Strong critical/analytic thinking and ability to communicate effectively.
Strong problem solving, project management, relationship management skills.
Demonstrated track record of internal or extramural funding for research.
Understanding of good clinical practices and the laws, regulations, standards and guidance governing the conduct of clinical studies and the preparation of clinical documentation in support of regulatory submissions.
Understanding of various computer systems, databases, and technology
Proficient in Microsoft Office. Proficient in statistical software (ie STATA, SAS, SPSS) and statistical analyses
Experienced in developing and delivering presentations, reports, peer reviewed publication and business correspondence.
Minimum of two peerreviewed publications.
Ability to interact on a scientific level with medical staff and other researchers.
Demonstrated effective organizational and time management skills, professional communications, and conflict resolution skills.
Knowledge of scientific methodologies, procedures, and basic experimental theories/applications. None Required. Exposed to normal office environment.
Must be able to sit for extended periods of time as well as stand and walk throughout each workday.
Ability to work some evening and weekend hours to accommodate study needs such as patient treatment schedules and/or research deliverable needs.
May be exposures to mechanical, electrical, chemical, biological, and radioactive hazards, therefore personal protective equipment must be worn as necessary.
Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
