nJob Summary n

n

The Principal Researcher will be collaborating with Prof. Bryon Aragam and will work on problems in causal inference and graphical models. The ideal candidate will have a background in graphical models, optimization, or nonparametric statistics and will be given the opportunity to pursue a broad research agenda at the intersection of statistics, machine learning, and causal inference.

This position is expected to last at least one year, with the possibility of renewal for up to three years.

nResponsibilities n

+ Performs and produces high-quality research and code.

n

+ Conducts literature reviews and performs research.

n

+ Disseminates work to the research community through workshops and conference talks.

n

+ Engages in the intellectual environment of the University of Chicago through workshops, presentations, seminars, and collaboration with faculty and other researchers.

n

+ Maintains effective communication with all members of the faculty and outside institutions.

n

+ Uses subject matter and best practices knowledge to perform lab and/or research-related duties and tasks. Works independently to assist with project design.

n

+ Guides data collection, evaluation and analysis. Designs and manages databases. Writes reports, articles and manuscripts.

n

+ Performs other related work as needed.

Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.

Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 5-7 years of work experience in a related job discipline.

+ A minimum four years of relevant research experience.

+ Strong mathematical and statistical background at the research level.
