Job Summary

The Pre-K teacher will create a stimulating learning environment by:

  • Providing an educational setting that encourages excitement for learning and preparing for kindergarten

  • Developing learning centers that focus on school readiness

  • Partnering with co-teachers on best practices and creating a warm and welcoming environment

  • Encouraging preschoolers to engage, discover, and problem-solve 

  • Supporting continuous collaboration with parents and families.

  • Work with a mixed-age classroom of 3-5-year-olds to develop and implement an educational program that is responsive to children’s individual needs, interests, and developmental levels. Responsible for screening, assessment and developing goal plans for individual children in collaboration with parents.

  • Completes 2 home visits per year, parent-teacher conferences and maintains ongoing communication and partnership with families.

Education, Experience, and Required Skills

  • Associate’s in Early Childhood Education or related field required; Or, at least 15 credits in ECE is required

  • Minimum two years of professional experience working with children in a classroom setting

  • Experience in Head Start and State Pre-K programs a plus

  • Experience with Creative Curriculum and Teaching Strategies Gold Assessment system, a plus
