Sentinel Network Administrator in Chicago, Illinois
Sentinel is seeking a Network Administrator to join one of our strategic partners. The Network Administrator will work on a technical team of 8 and will be responsible for the day-to-day network operation. These responsibilities include maintaining routers, switches, firewalls, VPN, VLAN, WAN and Tier 2 network support. The ideal candidate will require minimal supervision and understand network security and assessing anticipated network growth. This is a 6-month contract to hire opportunity located on the South Side of Chicago, IL.
3+ years of experience with Cisco Networking Administration and Support
Bachelor’s Degree preferred or an equal combination of education and experience
Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or MCSE preferred.
Experience managing Cisco Routers, Switches, Firewalls, and Security
Basic understanding of Systems Administration as it relates to network functions
Candidate should be an excellent communicator for verbally and written
Candidate should have the degree of knowledge and experience to know day-to-day network needs.
The candidate must have a car, as this position requires travel between location and the transportation of equipment
A valid driver’s license and proof of vehicle insurance will be required
Legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
Must demonstrate a “can-do” attitude
