Position Overview
The Manager's primary roles include monthly and quarterly financial statement review for BPR, including monthly intercompany eliminations for reporting to Brookfield Properties and other investors. The Manager will assist in the preparation, review and analysis of financial information required for consolidated financial statements and disclosures for SEC filings, including quarterly earnings release and Forms 10-Q & 10-K.

Responsibilities:
Review monthly, quarterly and annual financial statement packages, including consolidated balance sheets, income statements and statements of cash flows
Work with auditors to assist in quarterly and year-end audit procedures including audit requests and disclosures
Communicate monthly, quarterly and annual financial statement variance analysisto department leadership, up to and including CFO.
Assist in the preparation and analysis of budget and monthly forecast information?
Ensure compliance with internal controls
Provide ad hoc analyses for Brookfield Properties, management and auditors as needed
Plan, implement and supervise high profile financial system and ledger projects.
Lead the legal entity creation process for the accounting group
Other duties and ad hoc responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field; CPA preferred
Five to six years corporate accounting and / or real estate accounting experience preferred
Thorough knowledge of GAAP, SEC, IFRS and other sources of authoritative accounting guidance
Ability to effectively interact with all levels of management, staff and external firms
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Must be proactive, deadline focused and organized
Must have strong analytical ability and proven problem solving skills
Experience with training and supervising employees. Two or more year preferred.
Ability to manipulate and analyze large data sets using advanced Excel skills
Strong Microsoft Excel skills required.JD Edwards and HFM experience preferred.
