Hyatt Manager, Corporate Accounting in CHICAGO, Illinois
Hyatt Hotels Corporation seeks a self-motivated professional accounting manager to join its Corporate Accounting –Loyalty & Fees team. Responsibilities include general oversight of assigned processes within the Hyatt monthly and quarterly close process. This includes the review of journal entries, monthly and quarterly balance sheet account reconciliations as well as financial statement analytics across all Hyatt entities. Additional responsibilities include assisting in the enhancement of internal controls and participating in special projects that incorporate a wide range of accounting exposure. The individual will also be expected to ensure the quality of work delivered by the Loyalty & Fees team’s Staff and Senior Accountants, as well as make significant contributions to the Staff and Senior Accountant’s training and development.
Manage the team’s tasks/deliverables to ensure on-time and accurate completion.
Review work performed by team members, such as: billing files, monthly journal entries, financial statement analytics, account reconciliations, and quarterly cashflow/footnote submissions.
Manage the process around statutory audit reports for which the team is responsible.
Demonstrate strong project management skills, specifically around process improvement.
Contribute to compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley, including documentation of process areas and testing of key controls.
Field and resolve inquiries from management, customers, and external auditors.
Assist with the optimization of accounting procedures and special projects, as required.
Train and develop senior and staff accountants.

Required: 5 years of experience in corporate accounting and/or public accounting
Preferred: Supervisory responsibilities or other experience that requires ensuring the quality of work delivered by other individuals.
Required: Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
Preferred: Master's degree in accounting
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Preferred: CPA - Certified Public Accountant
Computer Skills Needed to Perform this Job
Required: Strong PC skills including Microsoft Office
Preferred: Financial ERP systems (Oracle preferred)
Strong verbal and written communication skills
