Currently, we have opportunities for Site Reliability Engineers in our Charlotte, NC, Iselin, NJ, Chicago, IL and Broomfield/Denver CO offices. This role will be accountable for the availability, performance, monitoring and incident response, and services that our organization runs and owns.

The primary focus of this role will be to identify and manage asset reliability risks that could adversely affect business operations.

The SiteReliability Engineer will ensure that TIAA’s services have reliability and uptime to meet the needs of our ever-growing user-base while keeping a constant eye on capacity and performance. Practices such as limiting time spent on operational work, release automation, blameless postmortems and proactive identification of potential outages factor into iterative improvement that is key to both product quality and user experience.

The ideal candidate will be a Software Developer who has operational, systems or networking knowledge and likes to find problems and fix them. This role will interface with the Dev team, and bring solutions that help remove the barriers between dev teams and operation teams.

  • Bachelor’s degree inEngineering, Computer Science, or other technical discipline, or 4 yearsrelated work experience;

  • Experience with at least onemajor cloud provider (i.e. AWS, Azure or Google Platform);

  • Minimum of 7 years’ experienceworking in an IT environment;

  • Experience with at least onefunctional programming language (i.e. Node.js, Python, Java, or Go);

  • Experience with one scriptinglanguage (i.e. Ruby, Python, PowerShell or BASH);

Desired Experience

  • Highly analytical, detail oriented andability to work with complex logic

  • Ability to work under pressure and meettight deadlines

  • Advanced experience in at least one ofthe following: networking, Linux/Unix administration, systems programming, distributedsystems, data bases, cloud computing;

  • Experience working with infrastructure ascode;

  • Experience with container technology(i.e. Docker, Kubernetes);

  • Proven capability and work in automationand data-driven analysis;

  • Knowledge and experience with serverclusters, load balancing, monitoring;

  • Highlyanalytical, detail-oriented and ability to work with computer logic

  • Abilityto work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

  • Strongcommunications skills, both written and verbal
