Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese Family Stabilization Worker in Chicago, Illinois

Essential Functions of the position are detailed below, and include any physical requirements below that.1. Accomplishes clients' care by providing brief case management and supportive services to clients and/or their families in order to promote self-sufficiency and in coordination with management and/or the regional director and volunteers, ensures the efficient operation of food pantry;2. Responsible for developing, monitoring, and evaluating client progress;3. Advocates for clients with regard to financial, state/federal benefits, housing, education, child care, skill testing and development programs, job training, job referral and or treatment programs; 4. Assesses if clients are eligible for financial assistance, accurately and expediently processes the necessary documentation to process their applications and follows up, when necessary; 5. Maintains up-to-date and accurate departmental files and databases as required by agency/programmatic policies and procedures, professional standards, and external requirements of all relevant regulatory, licensing or accrediting bodies in the course of performing job expectations;6. Meets with each client as required and conducts home inspections, recognizes unsafe or potentially unsafe situations to ensure safety at all times and communicates with chain-of-command when safety concerns arise;7. Responsible for maintaining, updating and submitting routine and ad-hoc reports;8. Knows and complies with the laws and regulations relevant to the position and services;9. Meets with each client as required by the program or based on client needs;10. Participates in community outreach efforts and must maintain a flexible schedule to attend community events, committee meetings and special events, as needed, and must be willing to travel between sites to fill in for staff, including food pantry staff, as needed.

X Kneel and move from sitting, bending, kneeling or standing multiple times a day. X Push and pull objects up to 50 pounds.X Climb up and down up to 3 flights of stairs at a time. X Lift up to 50 pounds.X Additional Requirements: Must be able to reach in all directions to stock shelves with food pantry items and/or move hands in a repetitive motion when bagging food pantry items, as needed.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Relevant Education:Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Social SciencesMinimum: Associate's Degree in Social Sciences

Relevant Experience:Preferred: 2-3 Years of Case Management Experience Minimum: 1 Year of Case Management Experience

Certification/Licensure:Preferred: Must have a valid Manager Food Sanitation Certificate Minimum: Must acquire a Manager Food Sanitation Certificate within 6 months from date of hire.
