Illinois Action for Children Business Analyst of Health, Safety and Nutrition Resources in Chicago, Illinois

This job was posted by : For more information, please see: Under the direction of the Director of Health, Safety & Nutrition, the Business Analyst is responsible for a full range of activities which ensure the operational effectiveness and excellence of the Health and Safety program to support Family, Friend and Neighbor child care providers. This person will be highly self-motivated, professional, capable of managing their work load and prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced nonprofit environment. It is expected that the Business Analyst will promote and adhere to the workplace core capabilities of accountability, customer focus, continuous quality improvement, communication, competent people and clear priorities. All work to be completed with minimum supervision and in accordance with organizational standards.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Works directly with the Director of Health, Safety and Nutrition, the Health & Safety Manager, Data & QA coordinator, Health & Safety and Nutrition Resource Teams and appropriate IAFC staff to understand project concepts, objectives and approach.Defines project scope and objectives and assesses the operational impacts, workflow, training, etc. of a project along with the Director Health, Safety and Nutrition.Takes assigned projects from original concept through final implementation.Creates and maintains project schedules by developing project plans and specifications, estimating time requirements, establishing deadlines, monitoring milestone completion, tracking all phases of the project product/service lifecycle, providing timely reporting of issues that impact project progress, coordinating actions, and resolving conflicts. This includes documenting, prioritizing and tracking requests (changes, enhancements, etc.).Creates and maintains a repository of resources, including external referral list, program microsite, etc. Supports content-development consultant to create educational electronic tool kits and ensures the tool kits are up-to-date with current information including converting them to electronic formats where they are user-friendly, searchable, and bookmarked, etc.Reviews, analyzes, and creates detailed documentation of business process improvement and reporting and user needs, including workflow, program functions, departmental trends, and steps required to develop or modify improvement programs that will positively impact operational efficiencies.Identifies and coordinates communication and assignments among staff to meet the project requirements.Works with IT and Marketing to ensure that business requirements are adequately reflected in existing and new software applications. Develops use cases to test changes and new implementations, to ensure they align with business processes.Assists with the development of training and process improvement requirements of the program/department. Presents findings and works with staff to design and implement training and development initiatives that will continuously upgrade the skills and capabilities for staff. Other Functions: The organization may assign other functions to the job at its discretion. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:Bachelor's degree required. Fifth year college or university program certificate preferred; two to four years related experience and/or training.This is a full-time with benefits temporary position through June 30th, 2021.
