Chugach is privately held by Alaska Natives, our shareholders, and its stock is not publicly traded.As a preferred employer in our industry, we offer a competitive compensation and benefits package, professional growth opportunities, and more!OUR OPENING:SummaryThe Administrative Assistant reports directly to the Finance and Administration Director with Paul Simon Chicago Job Corps Center.This position is responsible for assisting the Finance and Administration Director with day-to-day clerical and administrative duties in support of all F&A departments, to include Finance, Systems Administration, Procurement, Food Services, Student Records, Property and Facility Maintenance departments.Acts as the receptionist, receiving telephone calls and visitors; handles routine matters and routes non-routine business to the proper staff.Responsible for clerical tasks, systems and procedures related to student and staff records administration in accordance with government, corporate, and management directives.Sets an excellent example for students in proper workplace etiquette.Essential Duties Job Functions* Perform a variety of secretarial and administrative duties; prepare reports and correspondence; maintain files, records, control logs and statistical data for both students and staff, adhere to the student right to privacy policy.* Assists with the clerical duties of the property department, including but not limited to, student uniform issuance, receiving, distribution, stocking and inventory; data entry and property counts, etc.* Provide clerical assistance to food service for the preparation and distribution of menus.* Update F&A Bulletin board monthly.* Type and distribute F&A meeting minutes and to do lists.* Provide assistance as assigned, center wide, with student pay, monitoring, etc.* Serve as an information resource for staff, students, and visitors.Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance.* Maintain calendar of events, schedules, travel arrangements, appointments, etc. as directed by supervisor.Coordinate meeting arrangements and schedules.* Perform input and output operations and make necessary adjustments to ensure local MIS schedules are met.* Maintain accountability of students and property; adhere to safety practices.* Cultivate and maintain a climate on Center, which is free of harassment, intimidation, and disrespect to provide a safe place for staff and students to work and learn.* Promote student attainment of career success standards through modeling appropriate skills, mentoring students, monitoring skills acquisition and intervening when inappropriate behavior is observed.* Perform other related duties as assigned.Accountable For* Completing all mandated training requirements per government and management directives.* Timely and cost-effective performance of duties.* Communicating effectively verbally and in writing with all levels of Center staff and students.* Ability to develop rapport and positive working relationships with all departments* Timely completion and accuracy of all depa rtmental work.* Dealing with a variety of people in a professional, courteous manner in diversified situations.* Compliance with company standard operating procedures and personnel policies and procedures.Knowledge, Skills, ExperienceMandatory* High school diploma or equivalent.* Two years administrative assistant experience.* Must be able to type 50 words a minute.* Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook at an intermediate level.* Successfully pass any background check and/drug test required on the contract.* Valid Drivers License and an acceptable driving record.Preferred* Associate DegreeOUR COMMITMENT:CGS is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
