We are currently seeking a 3D & Image Retouching Designer who will work under managerial direction, provides digital image retouching and manipulation, product, retail displays, and show space 3D renderings, design and creation for the Marketing personnel, Art Directors, Creative Director and Business Director. Also responsible for the design and production of other projects as assigned and other special account presentations to support marketing and sales efforts of the company.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Works with Business units (Baseball, Golf Racquet Sports and Team Sports) Marketing, Art Directors, Project Managers and Business Director for information gathering of image details, alterations and manipulation concepts all the way through final production ready phases of printable and digital media assets.

  • Position will be responsible for color correcting, image creation, retouching, clipping/silhouetting and manipulation of digital images to produce the highest-quality images possible.

  • Working as a part of the Creative Group Design Squad to accurately represent our products – full product line of images from Performance to Recreational.

  • Responsible for ensuring quality control of images, prepares and releases final files to Art Director, Designers and others in the Chicago office as well as external contacts such as prepress venders, AST (Taiwan ands China) venders, and Global Markets for a variety of uses ranging from print to web.

  • Coordinate with CAD modelers and Engineers to get 3D ready CAD models and produce photo realistic renders ready to implement as replacements for photography of premium product.

  • Enhance overall account presentations with 3D renders of: Wilson branded environments, tradeshows, product/packaging concepts and in-store product display solutions.

  • Refine RAW photography according to brand and color workflow requirements and maintains and follows image asset folder structure, proper file naming and image meta data protocol to loading files to Server/Sales Portal (DAM), Sale Force B2B sites and eCommerce environments as needed.

  • Prioritize retouching and color correction schedules to meet high volume of images under tight deadlines.

  • Assists with design and production from of layouts through completion of video assets for certain key products. Exporting and integrating the 3D software assets into movie files for product vignettes and other related video needs.

  • Works with Staff Photographer on coordinating and providing product, photo layouts and background concepts for various projects. Assists with location photography of players to ensure the imagery is consistent with the brand look established by Marketing and Art Directors.

  • Learns new software as company may change tools for the job, creates artwork and is willing to teach and learn with others in the department, works with consultants and attends seminars to expand computer knowledge.

  • Responsible for the ongoing implementation of Macintosh computers current technology as a production tool to achieve cost saving company goals. Research and implement new techniques and keep up on any Software updates, third party plug-ins, and applications that will enhance, and increase productivity and overall quality levels of the images and work being created for the company.

  • Responsible for maintaining the job log for project tracking as well as individual time tracking sheets in a timely manner.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

This role requires an associate's or bachelor’s degree in Graphic Arts or a related field. and a minimum five to eight years working experience doing digital image retouching and 3D rendering for an Agency and/or Design firm, Prepress firm, Printing firm, Display firm, as a contractor or Corporate in-house graphics related department.

Other qualifications include:

  • Expert level training and knowledge of Adobe CS and Photoshop and related image manipulation software is a must. Needs an expert working knowledge of RGB & CMYK color correction, color theories, photographic processes, film separations, and printing processes. Extensive knowledge of 3D software and 3D rendering. Application Keyshot knowledge and any graphic design and illustration abilities a plus.

  • Any previous video integration experience with 3D product renders will be a huge plus.

  • Expert level vision for seeing details and color shifts needed to correctly develop, change, manipulate and create images for the company.

  • Comfortable working on a Mac or PC Platform.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills required within and outside organization.

  • Excellent organizational skills required.

  • Requires some overtime as a salaried position and some limited travel as assigned, that may include overnight, weekend and out of town stays, with those travel expenses covered by the company.

  • Position can work remotely at the discretion of the Creative Group Business Director. During core hours, the position will be required to accessible via email, Skype, etc., business tools. Some days in the office will be assigned as required based on needs to be asset.

  • Constant amount of time spent viewing computer terminal on a daily basis.
