Kelly Scientific Resources, a division of Kelly Services, has an exciting opportunity for an Inventory Coordinator (Storeroom) to work with one of our top clients in Chicago Heights, IL, that focuses on Dietary supplements.

The primary purpose of this position is to manage the Storeroom and the MRO Inventories. Responsibilities include overseeing the site’s MRO Inventory Management Process; monitoring inventory and coordinating purchasing activities; ensuring compliance with regulations, serving as a liaison for external auditors, and coordinating internal inventory audits; maintaining an adequate inventory of materials, parts, tools, supplies used in the maintenance and repair of the manufacturing sites’ Maintenance, Engineering, Production, and Logistics Departments. In addition, accountabilities include analyzing data from operating system, preparing reports to establish KPIs and having direct supervision of the Storeroom Analyst/Specialists
Oversee and participate in the use of the Company’s Inventory Management System (JD Edwards/E-1); evaluate and monitor inventory control of multiple stock site locations, research and identify issues, and make recommendations to ensure sufficient supply of MRO materials.
Oversee ordering, receiving, and maintaining materials, parts, and tools used in the maintenance and repair of equipment and operational supplies associated with production of goods.
Coordinate purchasing activities; allocate accounts and cost center assignments; apply cost controls and conduct quality assurance by obtaining purchasing quotes, researching product and quality data, and monitoring quality of current vendor products.
Participate in the bidding process for, equipment and supplies; monitor vendor contracts.
Develops purchasing procedure for the site in accordance with company policies, follow and ensure the use of proper purchasing procedures. Responsible for ensuring and verifying documentation for quality assurance.
Ensure the receipt of incoming orders, which includes the verification of accuracy, quantities, and distribution, coordinate returns and exchanges, follow up on orders and back orders, ensuring that items are expedited as needed and maintain contact with vendors.
Ensure the issuing and distributing materials, supplies, parts, and tools; and determination of the availability of parts and supplies.
Maintain inventory records and prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly reports as necessary.
Ensure the storage of inventory; and keep track of unused, slow moving, and excess stock.
Lead the budget development process; recommend necessary budget funds for the purchase of equipment, parts, materials, and supplies coordinate the site’s annual internal and external inventory audit. This person will be responsible for managing the cycle count process (generate counts, approve adjustments and finalize count for processing).
Ensure the Labeling of parts for tracking purposes and enter information into computer.
Ensure the maintenance of storage areas in a clean and orderly condition; and ensure security of storage areas.
Fully manage the voucher log resolution process.
Track clothing and employee uniform allowance.
Contractor approvals and pre-approvals.
Perform related duties as required
Inventory practices to include Inventory Management Systems.
Purchase order system and procedures
Principles and practices of stock and inventory control; and receiving, storing and issuing of parts and materials, setting inventory control points, cycle counts Office procedures, methods, and equipment including computers and applicable software applications (MS Office)
Principles and procedures of record keeping and reporting
Occupational hazards and standard safety practices and procedures
Basic mathematical principals Proper English usage, spelling, grammar and punctuation
Business Management, Industrial Management, or related Degree; or equivalent experience
3-5 years of increasingly responsible warehouse or inventory management
2 years of supervisory experience
Experience with JD Edwards E-1 software
Possession of certification as a Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), Certified Production and Inventory Management (CPIM), Certified in Supply Management (CSM) or similar inventory management certifications is essential
