Demonstrates the Y core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility through all daily activities and responsibilitiesESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Overarching Goal: Through their planning, actions and daily work creates and fosters a welcoming environment for all persons of all backgrounds and abilities and has a positive, nurturing relationships with staff and children, while building cooperative relationships with parents/caregivers and program partners. Promotes and supports the potential of all youth in programs and facilitates peer-to-peer connections as part of the overall YMCA experience.1. Under the direction of the Sports Director to implement strategies that grows the participation, improves the overall effectiveness and increases the satisfaction of each program. Ensures a safe and positive environment.2. Models relationship-building skills (including Listen First) in all interactions. Delivers excellent service to all members, guests and program participants. Provides information and respond to players, parents and coaches about each program in a timely and professional manner. Markets programs; speaks in front of a large number of people/coaches when needed.3. Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules and directs personnel and volunteers as needed. Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.4. Participates in the planning of the annual budget; manages and implements the approved budget and takes appropriate action to correct variances.5. Responsible for ordering sports equipment as needed and the upkeep, functioning, and cleanliness of all equipment and program areas.6. Organizes and participates in sporting events at community events to promote the YMCA.7. Leads assigned aspects of the annual fund-raising campaign and engages in collaborative relationships with community organizations in order to strengthen support and build community.8.
