Automation Technician

job summary:

Immediate need for Technicians to work on automated equipment for a leading manufacturer located in the Greater Chicagoland area. In this role you will be responsible for the maintenance and technical support of automated and semi-automated manufacturing solutions for a high-volume consumer products application.

responsibilities:

  • Ensures PMs and calibration are executed per schedule.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts.

  • Follow / Drive escalation path as required.

  • Participate in 5S / White board review Gemba walks.

  • Ensure daily equipment cleaning logs are filled out and completed for respective area of responsibility.

  • Down time Report - eDHR

  • Ensures Changeover and line clearance meets timing expectation

  • Fast response to equipment anomalies and downtime / or when OEE target is not obtained.

  • Fast response to FPY if target is not obtained.

  • Performs required troubleshooting and effectively documents within a Tririga work order.

  • Perform any other duties assigned by supervisor.

qualifications:

  • 2-4 years of experience in a technical, hands-on manufacturing support role,

  • Mechanical and electrical experience.

  • Mix of technical education and experience acceptable

  • Strong foundational understanding of PLCs and logic.

  • Strong understanding of automated manufacturing principles and techniques.

  • Strong awareness of safety.

  • Previous experience maintaining and repairing variable speed motors.

  • Previous experience maintaining and repairing high-speed robotics and production experience required.

  • Ability to monitor the process and show an awareness of issues and demonstrate corrective actions to address those issues.

  • Well versed in the use of precision measuring devices and inspection tools

  • Proper usage of power tools and measuring equipment.
