AveXis, Inc., a Novartis Company, is a clinical-stage gene therapy company, dedicated to developing and commercializing novel treatments for patients suffering from rare and life-threatening neurological genetic diseases. Our initial product candidate, AVXS-101, is our proprietary gene therapy product candidate currently in development for the treatment of spinal muscular atrophy, or SMA, Type 1, the leading genetic cause of infant mortality, and for the treatment of SMA Type 2. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration, or FDA, has granted AVXS-101 Orphan Drug Designation for the treatment of all types of SMA and Breakthrough Therapy Designation, as well as Fast Track Designation for the treatment of SMA Type 1. In addition to developing AVXS-101 to treat SMA Type 1 and Type 2, we also plan to develop other novel treatments for rare neurological diseases, including Rett syndrome (RTT) and a genetic form of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) caused by mutations in the superoxide dismutase 1 (SOD1) gene.
The Manager, Sales Operations will be responsible for developing and implementing Sales Operations strategies/tactics that optimize performance of the Marketing, Sales, and Market Access functions to ensure the successful launch and growth of AVXS-101.
This individual will provide support for the AveXis commercial field and headquarters team largely focused on data management and data stewardship. This position will also play a key role with consultants, data supply vendors, etc.
Data profiling and data management (strategic handling of data).
Work with 3rd party vendor to manage our internal commercial data warehouse.
Manage secondary data sources (e.g., Symphony, SteepRock KOL Profiling, PolicyReporter, HUB data, etc.) used to support the commercial sales teams.
Ad-hoc data analysis and reporting within our commercial data warehouse environment.
Manage our Veeva Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system including configuration, administration and user support.
Develop reports/dashboards using Excel and Tableau.
Maintain industry awareness regarding market trends, competition, and product acceptance affecting the functional area.
3-5 years of experience in pharmaceutical Master Data Management, Sales Operations and/or Sales Analytics. A B.S. or similar degree is required.
Experience as a data steward or in a data management role.
Demonstrated proficiency in writing SQL queries to answer business questions.
Understanding of ETL, data warehousing, and database design.
Experience working with Business Intelligence (BI) tools; including the process of connecting BI tools with back-end data tables in a data warehouse.
Experience as a CRM systems administrator and/or providing CRM related support to field team members.
Experience working with Salesforce, Veeva Network and Veeva OpenData.
Experience working with a national sales team and zip to territory alignments.
Demonstrated business acumen, proven ability in translating ideas into concepts, gaining budget and delivering results against budget on time.
Ability to consult, draw out issues, conduct root cause analysis and build customer focused recommendations.
Ability to prioritize critical tasks and maintain high degree of accuracy amid competing deadlines.

This position is based in the corporate headquarters in Bannockburn, Illinois. Domestic travel is estimated to be 5-10%.
